# Fillable

> Fillable turns a flat or scanned PDF form (intake form, application, order sheet) into a real fillable PDF with AcroForm fields. Field detection runs in the browser; the user checks the fields, previews filling them in, and pays once per document to download the fillable PDF. No account, no subscription. Made by Nobody (https://getnobody.org).

## How it works

1. Open https://fillable.getnobody.org and choose a PDF (up to 20 MB and 30 pages).
2. Fillable finds text lines, boxes, checkboxes, date lines and signature lines in the browser. The PDF is not uploaded while you edit.
3. Fix the fields in the editor: move, resize, rename, change the kind, mark as required.
4. Preview filling it in, for free.
5. Try it free: download a fillable copy of page 1 with a small "Made with Fillable" line at the bottom (for a one-page form, that is the whole form).
6. Pay $4 once for the whole document without the footer. The PDF is sent to the server only when downloading (free copy or paid file), together with the field list; the server writes the form fields and sends the file straight back. It keeps only the document's SHA-256, page count and field count.

- MCP server: `https://fillable.getnobody.org/mcp/<workspace-key>` (Streamable HTTP). Add it to Claude or ChatGPT as a custom connector.
- Tools: get_pricing, get_field_guide, validate_fields, list_passes. All read-only. Payment always happens in the browser.
- Useful for: drafting a field list for a form an agent can see (coordinates in PDF points), checking it with validate_fields, then handing the user to the editor to pay and download.

## REST API

- Base URL: `https://fillable.getnobody.org/api/v1`, JSON, authenticated with `Authorization: Bearer <workspace-key>`. OpenAPI: `/api/v1/openapi.json`.
- `POST /workspaces` creates a workspace and returns its key and MCP URL.
- `GET /pricing` (no key needed): price, what is free, limits.
- `POST /fields/validate` with `{ fields, pages }`: returns cleaned fields and issues.
- `POST /checkout` with `{ document: { sha256, pageCount, fieldCount } }`: starts a payment for one document.
- `POST /passes/{passId}/confirm`, `GET /passes`, `GET /passes/{passId}`: payment status.
- `POST /passes/{passId}/fillable-pdf` (multipart: `document` PDF file, `fields` JSON, `options` JSON): returns the fillable PDF. Needs a paid pass for that exact document (same SHA-256).
- `POST /free-sample-pdf` (same multipart body, no pass): returns a fillable copy of page 1 only, with a small "Made with Fillable" footer. Fields on other pages are ignored. Free; 10 per minute per network.
- Errors are `{ error, message }`. 402 means the pass is not paid or its 24 hours are over, 409 means the PDF is not the one the pass was bought for, 413 means the PDF is over 20 MB, 429 means a limit was hit (10 checkouts per workspace per hour, or 20 downloads per pass).

## Field format

- A field is `{ id, pageIndex, kind, rect: { x, y, width, height }, name, required, fontSize }`.
- `kind` is one of text, multiline, checkbox, date, signature, number.
- Coordinates are PDF user space in points (1/72 inch), origin at the bottom-left of the page, y grows upwards. `rect.x, rect.y` is the lower-left corner. US Letter is 612 x 792.
- `fontSize` is 6 to 36 points, or null for automatic size.
- Pages are `{ pageIndex, x, y, width, height, rotation }` (the page's CropBox and rotation).

## Pricing

Detection, editing and preview are free. So is a fillable copy of page 1 with a small "Made with Fillable" footer (the whole form, if it has one page). The fillable PDF of the whole document, without the footer, costs $4 per document, paid once. After paying, the same document can be downloaded again for 24 hours (up to 20 times), for example after fixing a field. No subscription.
